Heroic Rescue: Uttarakhand SDRF Head Constable Saves Kawariya from Drowning in Ganga

SDRF Head Constable Aashiq Ali heroically saved a Delhi Kanwariya from drowning in Ganga's strong currents at Kangra Ghat, Haridwar.

A video is shared by Uttarakhand Police in which a Head Constable of Uttarakhand’s State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has saved a kawariya from drawing in the Ganga. The incident was reported in Haridwar, when a Kanwariya who came from Delhi drowned in the river while filling the kanwars. 

The viral video was shared today by the Uttarakhand Police which shows a Kawariya drowning in the strong waves of Ganga, and the SDRF official swimming through the currents to save him. At the end of the video, the kanwariya was seen with the SDRF team.

The video was shared with a caption written in Hindi that means, “While taking bath at Kangra Ghat in Haridwar, a Delhi resident Shiv Bhakt started flowing in the strong current of Ganga. On which #UttarakhandPolice SDRF jawan HC Aashiq Ali jumped into the Ganga and pulled the young man out safely and saved his life.”

People in the comment section praised the SDRF Head Constable for his bravery. The video has garnered more than 27,000 views and over 600 likes. And the numbers are rapidly increasing.

This was not the only case, one person from Mujjafarnagar also drowned on Bairagi Ghat in Haridwar and was saved by the SDRF officials.
