The budget for the next fiscal year of India was announced by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and the general public has mixed reactions to it. Amidst all this one person sarcastically shows the way to save 100% of your income tax.
Content creator Shrinidhi Hande, a resident of Udupi, Karnataka, shared the satirical "hack" which has captivated millions online. The video surfaced shortly after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Union Budget 2024 was unveiled, which had already become a target for numerous jibes, jokes, and memes.

In his funny video, Hande presents an absurdly simple yet humorous way for salaried professionals to avoid paying income tax. "In this video, I will tell you how to save 100 per cent on income tax," Hande begins, setting the stage for his far-fetched advice.
He outlines his "method" with exaggerated simplicity: “Step one: You have to grow grass in your home or on your balcony or on your terrace, and it is a very, very legal process,” he states, poking fun at overly complicated tax avoidance schemes.

Hande continues with his fictitious plan: “Now, go to the HR and tell them you don’t want any salary. They would be happy. Tell your HR that your company should buy grass from you to the tune of your salary. If your salary is ₹50,000, maybe they can buy 50 strands of grass for ₹1,000 each. Completely legal process,” he elaborates.
The core of his satire is that this method would reduce taxable income to zero: “Now what happens, your income from salary becomes zero and all you have is income from selling agricultural produce which is not taxable in India. This way, you can save 100 per cent on income tax. No need to worry about TDS or investment,” he concludes with a wink..

Hande also included a disclaimer on his Instagram post, emphasizing that the video was “Written with humorous intent only.” The video’s viral success highlights how humor can be used to engage audiences and offer lighthearted commentary on serious topics like taxation.
