Death remains one of humanity's greatest mysteries, yet Charlotte Holmes, a 68-year-old woman from Wichita, claimed to have experienced an extraordinary journey that reinforced her belief in afterlife. In 2019, Holmes was hospitalized due to a sudden spike in blood pressure. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she was declared clinically de for 11 minutes—nearly double usual five minutes used to determine death.

During this time, Holmes reported an out-of-body experience, saying, “I was above my body. I could see m doing chest compressions. I could see m, all nurses around. I could smell most beautiful flowers I’ve ever smelled. And n I heard music.” She described this experience as a trip to “Heaven,” where she encountered angels and deceased family members, and even glimpsed “Hell.”

“When I opened my eyes, I knew where I was. I knew I was in Heaven,” she stated confidently. Her vivid description of Heaven included an overwhelming sense of “pure joy” and beauty of nature. “I could see trees, I could see grass. And everything was swaying with music because everything in Heaven worships God. It’s a million times, a million times above what we can even think of,” Holmes ded.

Holmes also shared her reunion with younger, healthier versions of her deceased family members and saints from history, stating, “I saw my mom. I saw my d. I saw my sister. I saw family members standing behind me. I saw saints of old. y didn’t look old. y didn’t look sick. None of m wore glasses.”

However, her experience took a darker turn when God reportedly showed her “ edge of Hell.” “I looked down and smell — rotten flesh — that’s what it smelled like. And screams. After seeing beauty of Heaven, contrast of seeing Hell is almost unbearable,” she recalled. This part of her journey served as a vital lesson, with Holmes sharing, “He says, ‘I show you this to tell you if some of m do not change ir ways, this is where y shall reside.’ I heard my Far say, ‘You have time to go back and share.’”

Upon awakening in her hospital bed, Holmes felt compelled to share her story with ors. “People need hope. y want to know that re really is something out re. y want to know that everything’s okay. It’s more real than you can imagine. I can look you square in eye and tell you for sure, ‘Heaven is real,’” she stated.

Holmes’ husband, Danny, was by her side during her recovery. He recalled a moment when Charlotte, still unconscious, spoke of flowers, prompting him to realize she was not in this world. “Well, I looked around, and I knew re were no flowers in that room. That’s when I knew she was not in this world,” Danny told 700 Club.

Charlotte Holmes continued to share her insights about Heaven and afterlife until her passing on November 28, 2023, at age of 72.
