Gandhinagar: India's Rohtash Chaudhary has set a new Guinness World Record, surpassing Pakistan 's previous record for one-legged push-ups. Chaudhary completed a remarkable 704 push-ups in one hour, carrying a weight of 27.875 kilograms.
“I practiced daily for four hours,” Chaudhary shared. “This achievement belongs to every Indian.”
His record-breaking push-up count exceeded Pakistan’s previous record of 534 reps with a 27.2 kg weight, set just 22 days earlier.
The competition took place at Gandhinagar’s Town Hall, Gujarat, in the presence of Governor Acharya Devvrat.
Popularly known as India’s “Push-Up Man,” Chaudhary has broken multiple records, including Spain’s, with 743 reps using a 37 kg weight in January.
"I have been putting in relentless effort to break this record. This is not just my achievement, but every Indian's. The record once belonged to Pakistan; today, it is India's. Pakistan’s record was 534 push-ups, and I did 704", he said.
Sharing his journey, Chaudhary dedicated his achievement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and spoke of overcoming a severe back injury that left him bedridden for two years.
