In a recent tale of Bengaluru’s traffic, ace investor Ashish Kacholia missed his flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai after a glitch in Google Maps’ time estimation. The mishap highlights the challenges of navigating Bengaluru’s notorious traffic and weather conditions.

Kacholia, co-founder of Hungama Digital, was travelling from Bengaluru’s HSR Layout to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), located over 50 km away from the city centre. Google Maps had estimated the journey to take 1 hour and 45 minutes. However, the trip turned out to be significantly longer due to unforeseen circumstances.

According to Kacholia, the actual travel time was double the estimate, taking a total of 3 hours. The delay was exacerbated by sudden rainfall during the journey. Kacholia shared his frustration on the social media platform X, stating, “Yesterday missed my flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai because journey took 3 hours instead of 1.45 as shown by Google Maps.”

Check Out the Viral Post:

The incident prompted Kacholia to take a subtle jab at Bengaluru’s infrastructure, expressing his gratitude to Mumbai’s municipal corporation. On X, he wrote, “Deeply grateful to Mumbai administration @mybmc for investing in infrastructure to keep traffic moving in maximum city.”

Users Reaction to the Post:

“Cabbies in B'luru should compulsorily offer washroom breaks in between rides (just like overnight buses do),” said one user.

Another one pointed the mistakes of Google Maps and wrote, “Recently, Google predictions have become quite unreliable. Always ask to a local if weather condition is not good in any part of the city.”

A third one said, “I think bangalore is the only place, where u can't rely the travel time shown on Google map.

Rarely happened in Gurgaon. (Even though I used to commute ggn to Delhi every day).”

Another user cracked an old but gold joke and said, “Old but Gold: Newly Engaged Couple on the way from Bangalore to Bangalore Airport ✈️ broke up as they got lot of time to Really Understand each other.”
