Delhi’s street food scene is known for its vibrant and innovative dishes, with momo being one of the most beloved snacks. Over the years, this Tibetan-origin dumpling has seen various transformations, from steamed to fried, tandoori, and even gravy momos. However, a new variety has emerged that has left food enthusiasts both intrigued and appalled—dry fruit paneer momo.

A video circulating on social media features a food vlogger who stumbles upon a street vendor in Delhi offering this unusual take on the traditional momo. The video begins with the vlogger presenting a plate full of dry fruits, including almonds, cashews, pistachios, and raisins, to the vendor. He then asks, "if he could make momos with it." The vendor confidently agrees, promising to prepare the best momo.

Check Out the Viral Video:

The vendor starts by melting butter in a pan and frying all the dry fruits. He then adds chopped onion, carrot, and capsicum, stir-frying them briefly before incorporating a generous amount of mayonnaise and liquid cheese. But the innovation doesn’t stop there.

To elevate the dish further, the vendor adds cream and oregano to the mixture, finally tossing in fried momos. The dish is then garnished with finely cut almonds before being served to the vlogger. The unique dry fruit paneer momo comes with a hefty price tag of Rs 240 per plate.

While some may appreciate the creativity behind this dish, the internet’s reaction has been largely negative, with many expressing their disgust at the combination of ingredients. The video has sparked a debate about how far food fusion should go, especially when it comes to beloved street food classics. And people in the comment section shared their opinions on this.

Users Reaction to the Viral Video:

“Justice for Dryfruits 😢," said one user.

Another one said, “Momo agar insaan hota to suicide kar leta aisi haalat dekh kar.”

Official Instagram handle of Swiggy Instamart also replied to this video and wrote, “aayein," in the sense to ask what is this?

“People of Delhi... or rather momo sellers of Delhi.. please control your urges!!,” said a fourth user.
