Kochi: A 24-year-old woman recounted a disturbing experience on Reddit involving a bus conductor who overstepped her boundaries while getting friendly with her.

During her daily commute, she initially found two conductors to be harmless. However, one conductor’s behavior began to make her uncomfortable as he was persistently working to seek her attention.

The situation escalated when he asked for her phone number, which she declined to give. The conductor's actions grew more intrusive when he allegedly blocked her from exiting the bus until another passenger intervened, pushing him aside to let her leave.

She described her experience, women wrote on Reddit, “Is the bus conductor being creepy or just friendly? I’m 24F and take the same bus every morning to work. There are two conductors, and the one who usually gives me the ticket is really chill. But there’s another conductor who, once he realized I was a regular, started greeting me. At first, I thought he was just being friendly, so I greeted him back. Over time, though, he began asking more personal questions like whether I’d had tea and breakfast. I thought these were harmless at first.”

The situation deteriorated when the conductor began trying to get her attention by poking her and even waking her from sleep to ask if she was resting. He also tapped her on the hand and inquired about her phone use, which made her increasingly uncomfortable.

She continued, “Today, when he came to say hi, I just nodded and turned my head. But when my stop came, he blocked my way out of the seat (I was near the window), and the woman sitting next to me had to push him to let me get off.”

Reddit users responded with concern:
“The beginning didn’t seem creepy, but what you described towards the end definitely is. If he blocked your way and someone had to push him out, that's troubling. Stay safe,” one user commented.

“Most men wouldn’t touch or poke a woman unless they were friends. And a man in his 40s asking for your number is crossing boundaries. Avoid him,” advised another user.
