Viral News: Haikou, a 58-year-old man from Henan Province, China, had a rather unpleasant experience. While asleep, he unknowingly inhaled a cockroach! It started with a strange sensation in his nose, like something crawling, then moving down his throat.

Despite the discomfort, he initially brushed it off and continued to live a normal life. A few days later, Haikou noticed a persistent foul odour in his breath, along with coughing up yellow phlegm. Concerned, he sought medical attention. 

Initially, an examination of his upper respiratory tract revealed nothing unusual. However, Haikou remained convinced something was wrong.

He was then referred to Dr. Lin Ling, a respiratory specialist, who performed a chest CT scan. The scan revealed a shadow in his lung, suggesting a foreign object. A bronchoscopy, a procedure using a camera to examine the airways, was recommended.

How Cockroach Was Removed

During the bronchoscopy, Dr. Lin Ling discovered the culprit, the cockroach! It was lodged in Haikou's lung and covered in mucus. 

The doctor carefully removed the insect and surrounding secretions. Thankfully, the procedure was successful. Haikou felt much better afterward, with reduced coughing and phlegm, although a slight odour lingered. 

This viral incident highlights the importance of listening to your body and seeking medical attention if you suspect something is wrong, even if initial examinations seem normal.
