'Most Violent Thunderstorm' Hit Mumbai Amid Heavy Rain, Netizens Share Scary Lightning Videos

Mumbai: Mumbaikars were in for a surprise after wear in Maharashtra capital took a dramatic turn causing heavy rains, lightning and a thunderstorm that locals termed as ‘most violent storm ever’. Amid waterlogging in Mumbai, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for whole of Maharashtra .

Maharashtra Wear Update: IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert

As per IMD Wear Update, Central Maharashtra including Mumbai will be experiencing heavy rain for next few days. IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for several states including Maharashtra , till October 17.

Many users on X shared videos and pictures of lighting and thunderstorm in Mumbai 

In several viral videos shared by users on X, shows thunderstorms and strong lightning can be seen and heard amid heavy rainfall.

“Nature’s fury on full display in Mumbai tonight! amp️⛈️ city lit up by a powerful thunderstorm—Mor Nature never fails to amaze,” one user posted along with a video of storm.

Ar user commented that Mumbai was “crying”, linking it to passing of industrialist Ratan Tata. “Aaj tho Mumbai roh rhe hai,” he wrote in his post.

“Mumbai rains are something else. y can be magical and mesmerizing, turning city into a lush, vibrant place. However, heavy downpours can also le to severe flooding and disrupt daily life. city’s spirit is indomitable, though, and people find ways to navigate through chaos. It’s truly a love-hate relationship with monsoon,” user wrote.

Waterlogging In Mumbai: 

Waterlogging was also witnessed in several some low-lying areas of Mumbai as heavy rain lashed city.
