'Not Ready to Sell': Cobbler Rejects Rs 2 Lakh Offer For Slippers Stitched by Rahul Gandhi

A cobbler in Sultanpur, Ram Chet, has turned down offers of up to ₹2 lakh to sell a pair of slippers made by Rahul Gandhi.

Viral: A cobbler in Sultanpur, who has a pair of slippers stitched by Rahul Gandhi, turned down an offer of ₹2 lakh to sell them. The slippers, which were given by Rahul Gandhi during a visit to the shop on July 26, are a ‘precious gift’ for the cobbler. Despite receiving offers up to ₹2 lakh, the cobbler, Ram Chet, said he is not ready to sell them.

During a personal appearance in the MP/MLA court in a defamation case filed against him in 2018, Rahul Gandhi stopped by the shop owned by Ram Chet  in Sultanpur. Later, the slippers made by Rahul Gandhi were given to him.

Ram Chet considers the slippers made by Rahul Gandhi as his most valuable gift. Despite being offered ₹1 lakh and even ₹2 lakh, he refuses to sell them. He mentions that he hasn’t inquired about the backgrounds of those who came to buy the slippers, and he has no intention of selling them. Ram Chet mentions that he will not sell the slippers under any circumstances.
