Shimla: The recent "samosa mix-up" involving the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister has fueled a wave of internet memes. After a CID investigation was ordered into the incident where samosas meant for CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu were instead served to his security staff, netizens have been amused, creating memes around the situation.

The BJP 's Himachal Pradesh unit even shared a meme suggesting the establishment of a new department in Sukhu's government, the "Samosa Investigation Department" (SID).

What Happened?

The Himachal Pradesh government ordered a CID probe following the October 21 incident. During CM Sukhu's visit to the CID headquarters, samosas and cakes intended for him were reportedly served to his security team instead. According to an official, this may have been done with a specific agenda, although CM Sukhu dismissed the claims, stating that CID’s involvement was related to an issue of misbehavior, not "samosas."

In a statement on Thursday, BJP chief spokesperson Randhir Sharma criticized the government, saying, "The government’s only concern seems to be the Chief Minister’s samosa, not the development of the state." This incident has since sparked discussions in Himachal Pradesh's political circles.
