In her viral post, Sudha Murty shared her insights on Indian festival Raksha Bandhan. According to her post, ‘Raksha Bandhan has a rich history. When Rani Karnavati was in danger, she sent a thre to King Humayun as a symbol of siblinghood, asking for his help. This is where trition of thre began, and it continues to this day.’

After post went viral, a barrage of comments started pouring in, with people from all across internet sharing ir thoughts and opinions on same.
According to many, Raksha Bandan is related to Krishna and Draupati, not Karnavati and Humayun. People also started giving examples of Indian mythologies to support ir opinions.

One user wrote, ‘It's a real surprise for me that you, as a writer, are telling this crap. Raksha Bandan is related to Krishna and Draupati. Please educate yourself.’
