Jaipur: In a shocking yet emotional video, a two-year-old boy can be seen clinging to his kidnapper in Jaipur.

The child, Prithvi, was rescued by the Jaipur police from his kidnapper, Tanuj Chahar, in Aligarh on August 27, bringing an end to a year-long investigation.

The video captures the heart-wrenching moment when the child sobs as a police officer separates him from Chahar. The officer then returned Prithvi to his mother, who was waiting outside. Even Chahar is seen wiping away his tears as the child is taken from him.

Tanuj Chahar, 33, was formerly a head constable in the Reserve Police Lines in Aligarh. He had managed to evade capture for over a year by frequently altering his appearance, changing his location, and avoiding using a phone. He even grew a beard and disguised himself as a monk to conceal his identity.

Chahar had abducted Prithvi after his mother, Poonam Chaudhary, whom he knew from before, refused to leave her home with him. After her rejection, Chahar allegedly kidnapped her child in an attempt to force her to flee with him.

Reports indicate that Chahar travelled to Jaipur in search of Chaudhary, only to discover she was married to someone else. After living with her in Jaipur, their relationship ended due to family objections. During this period, Chaudhary had a child, which led Chahar to kidnap him.

Chahar also claimed that the child was his. After failing to convince Chaudhary to leave with him to Uttar Pradesh, he resorted to kidnapping the child in a desperate bid to reunite with her.

Jaipur Police ASP Poonamchand Vishnoi stated that while Chahar was on the run, he was under surveillance and had been in contact with the child’s mother.

Chahar is currently in police custody and continues to assert that the child is his. Meanwhile, Prithvi’s mother has unequivocally rejected any further association with Chahar.

The police operation, conducted by a special team, tracked Chahar across multiple locations, including Mathura, Agra, and Vrindavan.
