Viral Video: In a rare and remarkable case, doctors performed a complex brain surgery while keeping the patient awake throughout the entire operation. 

A video went viral on social media showing a team of doctors performing an impressive brain surgery while the patient watched a Jr NTR movie.

The surgery took place at Kakinada Government General Hospital in Andhra Pradesh, where 55-year-old A. Ananthalakshmi underwent the operation for a brain tumor. This innovative approach, known as an “awake craniotomy,” allowed the patient to remain conscious and engaged throughout the complex procedure.

The 55-year-old patient had grappled with symptoms like numbness in her limbs and persistent headaches. Diagnosed with a 3.3 x 2.7 cm tumor on the left side of her brain, she chose the government hospital for the operation due to high treatment costs at private hospitals.

On the day of the surgery, the medical team screened scenes from Jr NTR’s movie, the patient's favorite film, to keep Ananthalakshmi calm and focused.

The procedure, which was as intricate as it was unconventional, successfully removed the tumor while ensuring the patient’s comfort. The video of this extraordinary operation went viral on social media.
