The Olympics, one of the biggest sporting events in the world, has started, and athletes from all corners of the globe have reached Paris to participate in the 2024 Olympics. The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 was a grand event that received mixed reactions. Some people praised it, while others criticised certain performances.

Amidst all of this, people remembered the closing ceremony of the Rio Olympics 2016, in which Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe appeared. The viral video starts with Abe sitting in his car with a big red ball in his hands, checking his watch. He said, “I will not make it to Rio in time.” A Super Mario cap with "TOKYO" written on it was lying on the road. He picked up the cap, and in a second, he transformed into the Super Mario character and started running.

And that’s not the end. Doraemon, the famous Japanese cartoon character, saw him running and placed a Mario tube in the middle of the street. This Mario tube started drilling, and then the video shows a second tube appearing in Rio on the world map. Without wasting any time, Shinzo Abe jumped into the tube while holding the red ball. The tube was shown in a stadium hosting the closing ceremony of the Rio Olympics 2016.

This was all part of the event segment in which the host nation of the next Olympics showcased what the world could expect in four years. Japan, with its vibrant culture, did not disappoint at all. Shinzo Abe, who stepped down from office due to health issues, missed the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
