Watch: Passenger Finds Insects in Sambhar on Vande Bharat, Railways Respond

Viral Video: A passenger's Vande Bharat train journey took an unpleasant turn when he discovered insects in meal served to him. A video shared on social media showed black insects floating in sambhar, which was served in an aluminum container.

Several passengers on same train travelling from Tirunelveli to Chennai complained that even though train service was good, food provided was not satisfactory.

Congress MP Manickam Tagore shared one such video and sought to know what steps were being taken to dress issue.  

"Passengers have raised concerns over hygiene and IRCTC's accountability. What steps are being taken to dress this and ensure food safety on premium trains?" he posted on X.

Railways Respond:

railways responded to complaint and said that an "immediate investigation was conducted" and food package was handed over to a health inspector at Dindigul station.

investigation found that insect was found stuck on lid of food package, as per railways.  

As a result, a fine of ₹50,000 was imposed on service provider responsible for incident.  

railways assured that it is committed to maintaining food quality and promptly dressing passenger complaints.
