The popular TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati has found its first crorepati! 22-year-old Chander Parkash from Jammu and Kashmir has won a crore in the show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan .

A video shared on the Official Page of Sony Entertainment shows Big B exclaiming "1 crore" as the audience applauds Chander's victory. The caption reads, "Iss season ke pehle Crorepati, Chander Parkash ko hum sab ki ore se hardik shubhkaamnaye!" (This season's first crorepati, best wishes to Chander Parkash from us!)

The jackpot question asked by Amitabh Bachchan read, "The largest city in which country is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name that means 'abode of peace'? Option A) Somalia, B) Oman, C) Tanzania, D) Brunei."

In another clip, Amitabh revealed to the audience that apart from winning the amount, Chander also won a car.

Who is Chander Parkash?

Chander Parkash is a 22-year-old UPSC aspirant who hails from Jammu and Kashmir. He has emerged as the first contestant to win 1 crore rupees in the 16th season of the popular quiz show.

As per reports, Chander had shared on the show that he battled several health obstacles in life. He shared the numerous health challenges he has faced. He was born with a blockage in his intestine and has undergone seven surgeries and is advised to prepare for an eighth due to ongoing intestinal issues. Chander continues to battle his health issues, including a heart condition.

The Sholay actor was overjoyed and appeared to be emotional, giving the young contestant a heartfelt hug and congratulating him on his remarkable win. Chander quit the 7 crore question as he didn’t want to take any risk. He plans to use the 1 crore prize money to pay off the loan his parents took for his medical treatments.
