'Why Indians Lack Civic Sense?': Rajdhani Passenger Shares Dirty Coach Photo, Ignites Debate

New Delhi: A Rajdhani Express passenger raised the issue of cleanliness in trains after he found his coach littered with empty bottles and food packets. The passenger shared a photo of a dirty coach as he boarded Rajdhani train from Goa ’s Madgaon to Delhi’s Nizamuddin. Taking to social media platform Reddit, the passenger ed shared the photo of the train coach which was littered with empty bottles and left over food saying, “why Indians are filthy and lack civic sense”.

The message was posted on Indian Railways community on the Reddit which reads, “Why are Indians so filthy? How are they okay with sleeping in their own filthy? Why do Indians lack any sense of civic sense? How is a 2700 Rs Rajdhani so different from an 1800 Durunto?” The message was shared by Reddit user @yourstruly555555555.

The incident has once again ignited a debate on cleanliness issues in public transport.

Reacting to the post, a user who goes by the username ‘’HumorMental69” commented, “Affording expensive tickets won't make people cleanliness concious. They'll forever be littering around and if anyone questions them, they might even ask you to pick and throw them in the dustbins, (Been there done that)."

Another person with username Anurag4one wrote, “I paid for this littering, they’ll come and clean attitude.” 

“Civil sense is a joke in India,” wrote another user on Reddit.
