New Delhi: As the national capital grapples with severe pollution, the Yamuna River is seen covered in toxic foam. Many devotees were seen taking a dip in the foam-filled water during the Chhath celebrations. In a recent video, a woman was seen washing her hair with the toxic foam, leaving internet users in shock.

She was seen using the froth as soap to shampoo her hair. In the video, four other women are completely surrounded by the foam. They appear to be joking and laughing as they continue to stand in the toxic river water.

The video has garnered over 1.3 million views, and netizens have reacted strongly to it.

Another person remarked on the potential health consequences, suggesting that "after a few days, they will see a skin doctor."

"Education plays a crucial role here. It’s heartbreaking to see people using this water, unaware of the health issues they may face," another user opined.

A final comment read “This is the condition of the rivers of our country which we all call mother, these rivers have become so polluted and no one is paying attention to it.”

The toxic foam is a result of high levels of untreated sewage and industrial pollutants in the river’s water.
