10 Bizarre Guinness World Records Set By Indians

Indians have always had a unique way of doing things. Here's a list of ten bizarre things in which our fellowmen hold the Guinness World Records.

1. The Largest Condom Mosaic

India holds the record for the largest mosaic made using condom boxes. To spread awareness about birth control, the UPSACS, INDEX, IIM-Lucknow and HLFPPT achieved this wacky feat out of 4,418 condom packs which measured over 20 feet in length.

2. The Largest Nail Sculptor

Wajid Art from Indore, Madhya Pradesh holds the record for the largest nail sculpture made using 14,992 nails. The sculpture depicts a 3-D peace symbol completed by Wajid and his team. Wajid is also known to create art pieces and painting using nails and has featured in TV shows for the same.

3. The Longest Head Massage Chain

Achieved by Bajaj Almond Drops Hair Oil in Mumbai, the record included 578 women participants who applied oil to the lady in front of her and also performed four head massage activity. Ordinary as it might seem, the sheer number of participants make this deed extraordinary.

4. The Largest TV Remote

Indian brothers, Rajesh Kumar Meher and Suresh Kumar Meher from Sambhalpur, built a 14 feet 9.1 inch, fully functioning television remote, which was demonstrated on a normal-sized television. The device is more than 20 times bigger than the normal remote.

5. Most Nose to Tongue Touches

Ashish Peri made this record by touching his tongue to nose 142 times in a single minute. Try touching yours just once. It's not as easy like it sounds!

6. Most Straws Stuffed in Mouth (without hands)

Manoj Kumar Maharana,a man from Odisha stuffed 459 straws in the mouth (hands off) is 459. This record had remained unbroken since 2009.

7. The Fastest Time to type the alphabets (blindfolded)

SK Ashraf, a man from Telangana, achieved this record in a mere 4.13 seconds. He also holds the record for the fastest time to type 1 to 50 which is just 14.88 seconds.

8. The Largest Broom Dance

737 participants danced with brooms in Surat to spread awareness about the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' initiated by the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi. The dance was organized by UMA Education & Charitable Trust, SUV International School, Namrata Pokar Bhayani and Jigar Patel.

9. Most People Brushing Their Teeth Simultaneously

16,414 people brushed their teeth at a single venue at the same time. This wacky record was achieved by My Dental Plan and Delhi Public School in Bangalore, Karnataka. All participants were supplied with the required equipment by the organizers.

10. The Longest Ear Hair

That is a record probably no one wants to break. Victor Anthony from Madurai has hair sprouting from the centre of his ear which measures 18.1 cm at its longest point. Anthony is a retired headmaster known by his pupils as the “ear-haired teacher”.
