What is ‘Grindadrap’ Custom All About?

'Grindadrap’ custom in Faroe Islands, as part of which these innocent dolphins are slaughtered, is a centuries-old tradition. While the beginning of this tradition came from the fight to survive - was a matter of survival for the people of the islands, today, it does not make any sense and is just a brutal remembrance of the past.

The tradition disrespects animal welfare and is a huge example of animal cruelty. The method of killing the dolphins or whales is extremely cruel, the nature of this custom is barbaric, largely unregulated. More so, there is no limit as to how many dolphins or whales can be killed in this custom.
