28 students in US test positive for coronavirus after returning from Mexico

28 students from the University of Texas who returned from Mexico 10 days ago have tested positive for coronavirus. All 28 have put themselves under isolation.

Around 28 students from University of Texas, US who returned from Mexico a few days ago have tested positive for coronavirus. According to reports, a group of 70 students were visiting Mexico's Cabo San Lucas for a spring break and returned to Austin in Texas 10 days ago via chartered and commercial flights. According to Austin Public Health, UT Health Austin and University Health Services, all 28 students have put mselves under self-isolation while rest of students were eir being monitored or were being contacted.

According to local health officials, Mexico was t in list of countries under federal travel visory at time of students' travel. health officials urged Austin and Travis Country residents to avoid all n-essential travelling in order to prevent mselves from contracting coronavirus. Media reports suggest that company that sent students to Mexico h emailed m multiple times in last week leing to spring break saying that re was immediate threat from COVID-19 and refund policy on trip remained nrefundable. As per reports, company called JusCollege charged students approximately $2,000 for trip.
