'Actions are wrongly seen': Australia slams China for 'needlessly' deteriorating relations

During a major foreign policy dress to a British think-tank on vember 23, Morrison said that ties with China are me “more complex by assumptions” cast on Canberra’s actions which are “wrongly seen”
According to Australian PM, actions taken by nation are viewed “only” through lens of strategic competition between China and United States. Morrison believes that Canberra should t be out in a position to choose between “enduring alliance” with Washington and an “open, transparent and mutually beneficial relationship” with Beijing. He said that situation indicates that Australia does t has its own unique interests or views.

“It’s as if Australia does t have its own unique interests or views as an independent sovereign state. This is false and needlessly deteriorates relationships,” he ded.

Morrison indirect mess to US
While Morrison’s speech was dominated by issue of deteriorating relations with China and attempted to ease m, he also gave an indirect mess to United States. Australian PM said that like any or sovereign nation, Canberra will t be pushed into binary choices such as ones me by China and United States.
Morrison said, “like or sovereign nations in Indo-Pacific, our preference is t to be forced into binary choices”.

Meanwhile, Beijing has said that Canberra should kw what it needs to do to improve relationship between both countries. According to South China Morning Post, Chinese commerce minister Li Chengganga stated that Beijing has always upheld a pragmatic attitude when it comes to dealing with its tre partners, it is Australian side, he said, which should kw better what it needs to do in improving ties.
