Next day y were asked to drive in silence.

In second phase of testing, researchers measured cardiac stress levels which were monitored via a monitor that was attached to participants' chest and calculated heart rate variability. variations in heart rate are defined as fluctuations between consecutive heartbeats. When parasympatic nervous system is active, n heart beats slower and person feels more relaxed.

This can have serious cardiovascular effects leing to heart problems in later part of life.
