Afghan mosque attack kills 8 during Iftar time, Taliban denies responsibility
At least eight worshippers have been killed while breaking their Ramzan fast on May 19 in an Afghan mosque attack by 'unidentified' gunmen, the officials said.

At least eight worshippers have been killed while breaking ir Ramzan fast on May 19 as gunmen attacked a mosque in central Afghanistan, official said. According to international reports, spokesperson for goverr of Parwan province Wahida Shahkar said that “unkwn gunmen” fired on people during iftar time when y were ending ir day’s fast with a meal during Islamic holy month.
gruesome attack has been confirmed by Ministry of Interior in Prawan’s provincial capital Charekar and has placed blame on insurgent group, Taliban. However, extremist group has denied any responsibility for incident; inste it accused Afghan government’s security forces of same. Incidence of violence in war-stricken country has hiked despite “momentous” peace deal signed between United States and Taliban. agreement was supposed to set frame for Afghan-Taliban talks, but t much progress has been witnessed.

UN calls for ‘ceasefire’
Even United Nations has warned of an alarming escalation in conflicts in regions. While world is battling with coronavirus outbreak since start of 2020, United Nations mission has said that over 500 civilians were killed in first quarter of this year in war-stricken country, Afghanistan.
