Afghan resistance against Taliban, led by Ahmed Masood & Amrullah Saleh, unveils its flag

As the Taliban takes complete control of Afghanistan, Ahmed Masood and Amrullah Saleh Resistance Front on Thursday announced their flag in Panjshir Valley.

As Taliban takes complete control of Afghanistan, sources have informed Republic Media Network that ex-Afghanistan Vice President Amrullah Saleh and politician Ahmed Shah Masood's Resistance Front on Thursday anunced ir flag in Panjshir Valley. ting that this is official flag of government formed after victory of Afghan Mujahideen against Soviet Union, Ahmad Shah Massoud had adopted this flag after capture of Kabul.

Earlier during day, Amrullah Saleh had expressed his support for people hoisting national flag. Since terror outfit captured Kabul on Sunday, it has started removing  Afghanistan national flag from key buildings and replacing it with its own flag. However, this has met with protests in several cities including Jalalabad and Khost. A day earlier, at least three persons were killed and ar 12 injured after Taliban terrorists purportedly opened fire at a crowd in Jalalabad for hoisting ir national flag in place of terror outfit's flag.

In a fresh statement issued on Twitter, Saleh stated, "I express my respect, support and appreciation for courous and patriotic movement of hourable people of my country in different places for raising national flag against Taliban proxy group. A number were hourably martyred in this way. Salute those who carry national flag and thus stand for dignity of nation and  country".

He also took a swipe at Pakistan for its blatant interference in region. In past, he has t only accused Pakistan of providing a safe haven to Taliban but also alleged that its special forces from Peshawar and Quetta are directing terror outfit. Stressing that neighbouring nation will never be able to control Afghanistan, he advised it against bowing to whims and fancies of terrorist organizations. 

Taliban take over Afghanistan

As US troops retreated after 20 years from war-ravd Afghanistan, Taliban launched an offensive taking over cities like Kandahar, Herat, and Lashkar Gah, gradually encircling government in Kabul. Kandahar and Herat fall on Thursday, forcing government officials and ir entour to flee to airport to escape city by air, Mazar-e-Sharif fell on Friday, while Jalalabad and Lashkar Gah on Saturday, reby strengning Taliban's stronghold.

long-standing war in Afghanistan reached a watershed moment on Sunday when Taliban insurgents closed in on Afghanistan's capital Kabul, entered city and took over presidential palace, forcing President Ashraf Ghani to join fellow citizens and foreigners to leave country.
