Afghanistan: Ashraf Ghani allegedly fled Kabul with Helicopter & 4 cars stuffed with cash

After a stunning 2-week capitulation, the Afghan government finally surrendered to the Taliban forces which breached the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul on Sunday

After a stunning 2-week capitulation,  Afghan government finally surrendered to Taliban forces which breached capital of Afghanistan, Kabul on Sunday. Later in day, while military group, which w goes by name 'Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan', reached Presidential palace to negotiate on terms of 'peaceful transfer' of power with government, President Ashraf Ghani along with his officials fled from country, leaving residents alone in panic and fear. Ashraf Ghani, as per fresh reports, however, ensured his well-being as while fleeing he took along four cars brimming with money. Reports, furr d that besides that, he took a bag crammed with money in helicopter.

Referring to President Ashraf Ghani, Defence Minister Bismillah Mohammi said in a tweet, that y "tied our hands behind our backs and sold homeland, damn rich man and his gang."  information of Ashraf fleeing from Afghanistan was put forth in public domain by Senior Afghan leer and He of High Council for National Reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah through a video. In his first statement reafter, Ashraf Ghani h defended his action of fleeing country, saying that he h or choice.  “ Taliban have me it to a point remove me, y are here to attack all Kabul and people of Kabul. In order to avoid bleeding flood, I thought it was best to get out,” he h said.

Taliban takeover 

As US troops retreat after 20 years from war-torn Afghanistan, Taliban has launched an offensive taking over cities like Kandahar, Herat, and Lashkar Gah, grually encircling government in Kabul. While Kandahar and Herat fell on Thursday, forcing government officials and ir entour to flee to airport to escape city by air, Mazar-e-Sharif fell on Friday, while Jalalab and Lashkar Gah on Saturday, strengning Taliban's stronghold. Finally, on Sunday, as US troops evacuated all ir diplomats, fleeing via helicopters, Taliban held talks with Ghani government and took over Kabul along with Afghan military.
