Afghanistan crisis: Taliban shun women again, ask female workers to stay at home
The female employees in the Kabul city government have been told to stay home. Female workers, whose work cannot be replaced by men, are allowed to work.

Ever since Taliban has taken control of Afghanistan, it has been curtailing freedom of women. In a new development, female employees in Kabul city government have been told to stay at home, according to Associated Press. Only those female workers have been allowed to work who cant be replaced by men.
Even though Taliban had assured that y would be inclusive and tolerant to women, y are imposing rules that curb women's freedom. interim mayor of Kabul anunced new restrictions for women laid down by new Taliban rulers, according to AP. decision has been taken by government to stop most female city workers from returning to ir jobs. In recent days, new Taliban government issued several rules that restrict rights of women.

Crack down on women's freedom
Cracking down on women's freedom, Taliban government on Friday, 17 September, closed Ministry of Women Affairs in Afghanistan, replacing it with a ministry for "propagation of virtue and prevention of vice". Taliban has anunced that female middle and high school students, for time being, should t return to school. However, boys in same classes have started attending ir classes this weekend. Female university students have been allowed to study but in a -segregated class. Moreover, women attending classes at university have to follow Islamic dress code.
Several women protested outside former Ministry of Women Affairs, demanding participation of women in public life. women holding signboard std a protest for about 10 minutes after which y had a verbal confrontation with a man. "A society in which women are t active is a dead society," one sign read. After Taliban re-conquered Afghanistan, women in large numbers protested across Afghanistan, seeking inclusion in new administration and curbs on women's freedoms.

During ir previous regime from 1996 to 2001, Taliban had imposed harsh restrictions for citizens, especially women. Back n, y were t allowed to step out without male relatives. women had to cover ir faces and y were t even allowed to study or to work.
