After fully shot 'Varmaa', Tamil remake of 'Arjun Reddy' gets controversially scrapped, 'October' actress Banita Sandhu joins cast

re’s been trouble for Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram’s debut ‘Varmaa’ which after being fully shot, has been scrapped for being ‘unsatisfactory’. makers are going ahead with a reshoot of movie, which is Tamil remake of Telugu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’, and ‘October’ actress Banita Sandhu has been first addition to new version.

news was confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh and production house E4 Entertainment on Twitter. 

Earlier, Megha Chowdhury was lead actress of movie and Banita has stepped into her shoes. actress' 'October', directed by Shoojit Sircar, was among most critically acclaimed films of last year and this will be her second major role. 

trailer of ‘Varmaa’ ( title n) had hit social media in January, and movie was gearing up for release on Valetine’s Day. However, on February 7, makers anunced that y were t happy with final version submitted to m by director Bala and decided t to release it over ‘creative and or differences.’

y anunced a fresh shoot to 'stay true to soul and intention of original’ with Dhruv in lead, and that anuncements about cast and crew and director would be made shortly. producers had also called situation an ‘unfortunate turn of events’, one that cost m ‘heavily’, but added that ir love for see 'cult film' in Tamil had t diminished in any way and that y were 'working tirelessly as a new united team' towards a June release.

Bala, who is kwn for directing some of Vikram’s popular films ‘Sethu’ and ‘Pithamagan,’ had said that he was ‘relieving’ himself from project to 'safeguard creative freedom' and in consideration of Dhruv’s future.

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor had been going all guns blazing for Hindi version of 'Arjun Reddy', titled 'Kabir Singh.'
