In a meeting at United Nations, President of France, Emmanuel Macron according to an international media said that global leers have agreed on September 23 to set aside funds worth $500 million to protect tropical rainforests including Amazon which were recently destroyed with raging wildfires. This session was reportedly missed by Brazil. French President also called out or countries to increase ir contribution to Green Climate Fund.

Guterres believes that for every dollar spent on restoration of forests will be recouped with ecomic benefits worth $30 and help in decreasing poverty. However, environmentalists have been blaming people who carry out deforestation in Amazon forests for commercial use to cause largest series of wildfires. Amazon rainforests are essentially called 'lungs of world'.

Macron for climate
French President reached out to a wider alliance to protect rainforests in world in 74th United Nations General Assembly in New York. According to an international ncy, France, Chile and Columbia also met during annual garings on September 23. se meetings were organized despite absence of Jair Bolsonaro, President of Brazil who promotes development in Amazon rainforests. Macron even mentioned that everyone wants to work with Brazil because work on climate requires an inclusive approach. Reportedly, French president will contribute $100 million out of total $500 million funds. Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Boris Johnson also said that deforestation is main cause of species extinction and undermining livelihood of millions of people.
