People in Amsterdam took to streets to protest against Dutch government for imposing lockdown. According to reports by AP, Dutch police h to use water canns on hundreds of people as situation worsened. Amsterdam police said that riot police took action to disperse crowd as people were t hering to social distancing rms.

“Because of danger to public health, it is important that everybody sticks to measures in force. demonstrators are t doing that”, said municipality. protests took place when ministers were meeting in Hague to discuss options to curb spre of dely coronavirus. options also included imposing a curfew for first time since pandemic began.

More than a dozen British nationals were barred from entering Nerlands from January 1 and UK citizens living in Spain were also prohibited from boarding flights because Britain is longer exempted from COVID-19-related restrictions on n-essential travel outside of European Union (EU) since Brexit. As per Guardian report, a Dutch border spokesperson confirmed on January 4 that nearly 13 UK citizens h been sent back from Amsterdam's Schiphol airport since January 1 because ir trips were t essential and y were w subjected to third-country coronavirus regulations.

Since UK’s transition period ended with EU on December 31, Britain has been removed from list.
