At least 23 killed in Congo plane crash; casualties on the ground as well
The death toll increased to 23 on November 24 after a plane crashed into a densely populated area of Goma located in the east of Democratic Republic of Congo

23 people die in plane crash
One of officials from rescue team reported that death toll increased to 23 after bodies were recovered from site of crash. Goma rescue service coordinator Joseph Makundi told international media that 23 people are de. Richard Mangolopa, Goma airport official informed that considering gravity of incident, survivors are expected.

aircraft Dornier-228 was heed for Beni, which is located 350 kilometers (220 miles) in rth of Goma. In a sudden turn of events, while taking off, it crashed on nearby populated area of Goma, which is located towards east of country. Heritier Said Mamou, a staff member of Busy Bee informed that re were 17 passengers on board along with two crew members. flight took off at its usual time in morning at 9-9.10 am.

Investigation is still going on
Goma is located in province of rth Kivu of Congo. goverr of rth Kivu was first one to release an official statement about crash along with number of passengers on board. investigation is still going on to ascertain main cause that led to plane crash. One of maintenance workers of Busy Bee told international media that crash happened due to technical problems. rescue operation is still going on and number of casualties on ground is still unkwn.
