Authorities in Australia on Saturday cautioned that although coronavirus restrictions were gradually being lifted, life may not be the same as before the pandemic hit.
The country's Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Professor Paul Kelly, said he was hopeful restrictions would continue to be eased over the coming weeks.
He added that although states had started at different points, and were going at different speeds, there were "no roadblocks in this roadmap."
On Saturday, pubs, markets and restaurants had begun reopening in different parts of Australia.
The bustling Parap Markets in Darwin reopened after a six week shutdown, attracting masses of joyful customers. In Sydney, people flocked to the streets and shopping centres.
According to the John Hopkins University, Australia has recorded almost 7,000 COVID-19 cases and 97 deaths.
The new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms for most people. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness or death.
