Australian authorities say there's no evidence that the coronavirus is in the country, but officials have ramped up precautions. Health Minister Greg Hunt said Wednesday in Melbourne that a man who was in isolation at his home in Brisbane after being suspected of contracting the coronavirus during a recent visit to Wuhan had recovered.

The man's symptoms have reduced and final test results are expected in the next few days. The country's Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy urged those arriving from Wuhan, or those who have been in close contact with anyone who develops flu-like symptoms, to seek immediate medical attention.

Murphy said Australia is well-prepared to respond to the virus. The number of cases has risen to 440 in China and the death toll has risen to 9, Chinese health authorities said Wednesday.
