Australia has recently announced its first death from the deadly coronavirus in the form of a 78-year-old who was evacuated from the Diamond Princess.

Authorities anunced on February 1 that an evacuee 'who was in his late 70's' from Diamond Princess cruise ship died in a hospital in Perth. His wife, who also tested positive for coronavirus is also mitted in hospital and is currently in stable condition.

According to sources, Western Australian chief health officer, Andrew Robertson, during a press conference was asked if or any prior health of victim could have been a factor. Robertson n claimed that people of victim's were very likely suffering from or chronic ailments that can make it difficult for m to fight virus.

As per reports, victim's family were able to speak to him on February 28 morning before his death on February 29. Robertson also ded that he was concerned about people panicking after confirmation of first coronavirus death in Australia, but he claimed that re was threat and that virus h t spre to community. Robertson reportedly claimed that while death was tragic, it was related to Diamond Princess and that community should t panic at this time.

Australia has reportedly “warned” its citizens t to travel to Iran amid surging cases of coronavirus in its territory, most cases linked to Iran. Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Tre (DFAT) anunced on February 29, that foreign nationals travelling from Iran need to quarantine in ar country before entering Australia, as per reports.
Effective from March 1, measure requires Australian citizens, permanent residents, and immediate families to isolate mselves for at least 14 days in case of flu-like or chronic illness symptoms upon entering Australia from abro. According to reports, DFAT also extended travel restrictions against Chinese nationals with exception of returning Australians citizens.
