'Australians of the Year'; Netizens praise firefighters for working around the clock
Rural Fire Service paid tribute to its members and gave a huge shout-out to all their firefighters who gave up their Christmas, netizens thanked the 'heroes'

As Australia battles an unprecedented fire emergency and a record-breaking heatwave, some families were still able to enjoy a hearty meal in ir homes for Christmas holidays. However, thousands of firefighters and volunteers across country worked around clock for last two days, under tough wear conditions. New South Wales Rural Fire Service paid tribute to its members and gave a 'huge shout-out' to all ir firefighters who gave up ir Christmas and Boxing Day amidst bushfires. More than 2,500 personnel are currently working for protection of ir communities across NSW.

Australian citizens took this opportunity to thank 'Bravehearts' working over holidays only to ensure ir safety. One of internet users even posted a hand-written te by her daughter as thanks to ones 'battling front line' of 'angry blazes'. One of Twitter users called m 'selfless' and said 're is greater sacrifice than risking own life for safety of ors. Ors called firefighters as 'legends', 'heroes', and 'Australians of year'. Most people were seen extending ir gratitude to workers, as well as ir families.
