Bangladesh scraps plan to bring back 171 citizens from China amid coronavirus dread

In a surprising turn of events, Bangladesh has scrapped plans to bring back its 171 citizens stuck in China after it failed to arrange a flight amid epidemic.

In a surprising turn of events, Banglesh has reportedly scrapped plans to bring back its 171 citizens stuck in China. This decision comes after it failed to arrange a flight to coronavirus hit nation as its airlines’ staff refused to travel re. Meanwhile, dely virus has killed 811 and infected more than 37,000 people in China. 

Unable to send any flights to China

Banglesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen told international media that y cant send any flights to infected country as member of crew agreed to go re. He ded that government has vised all Bangleshi citizens stuck re to wait. Meanwhile, government officials have revealed that re are 171 Bangleshi citizens who wanted to return, reported PTI.

Momen also denied previous complaints of stuck citizens of a dearth of food and water due to lockdown ding that Chinese authorities have been effectively providing food and water to all 23 areas where Bangleshi people stay. He furr said Bangleshi embassy is well in contact with residents.

According to a Bangleshi Daily, government has alrey spent a lot of time in efforts to bring its citizens back. However, it is still t possible to bring m back. Biman crew members who brought back about 312 Bangleshis from China are w in effect barred from flying to or countries, Momen said.

He also revealed that earlier Chinese authorities agreed to do so but have later declined before saying that y are t able to send any flights re. According to a report, his comments came days after Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said that around 171 Bangleshis would be flown out of Wuhan upon clearance from Chinese authorities.
