Beirut blast: Australia pledges $1.4 million in humanitarian assistance to Lebanon
Following the massive explosion that rocked Beirut on Tuesday, the Australian government has announced $1.4 million in humanitarian assistance to Lebanon.

Following massive explosion that rocked Beirut on Tuesday, Australian government has anunced $1.4 million in humanitarian assistance to Leban. Australia, along with various or countries, has pledged help and support to Beirut in troubled times; blast is reported to have killed at least 113 people and injured over 4,000 more.
Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne is reported to have stated that funding anunced would go to trusted aid partners, World Food Programs and Red Cross movement to help ensure food, medical care and essential items to those affected by devastating trdy.

Beirut’s Goverr Marwan Abboud informed that massive explosion has left nearly 300,000 people homeless while ding that dam from explosion exceeds $3 billion.
Half of city’s buildings have been severely damd and hospitals are overwhelmed because of soaring number of blast’s victims. officials have anunced to release 200 billion Lira of emergency funds to tackle devastation.

Countries offer humanitarian assistance
Amid such dark times, Beirut has also received humanitarian assistance from various countries, including Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, and Greece. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has also offered help to Leban. As per reports, he said that US team in Beirut is closely monitoring situation and stand rey to assist people of Leban.

French President Emmanuel Macron, on or hand, anunced his trip to Leban on August 6 to offer his support. While taking to Twitter, Macron wrote that ‘France h always stood by Leban’ and ded ‘French aid’ was being transferred to Mediterranean nation. Elaborating furr, Macron said country was deploying “civil security detachment” along with several tonnes of medical equipment and emergency doctors in Beirut.
Earlier, Pope Francis also prayed for people of Leban. During his weekly general audience, he asked international community to help Leban overcome its internal crisis. He offered prayers for those who have died in explosion and ir families and asked faithful to join him in praying for Leban. Meanwhile, Greece has also sent a medical team with health equipment to help treat those injured.
