Beirut blast: Trump reiterates blast might have been an attack, says 'Nobody knows yet'

Trump on Wednesday, August 5 once again said that the massive blasts that shattered the Lebanese capital of Beirut might not have been an accident.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, August 5 once again said that massive blasts that shattered Lebanese capital of Beirut might t have been an accident. Trump was earlier slammed for his 'terrible attack' remark but continues to insist that "y don’t really kw what it is".

On Tuesday, US President called explosion a “terrible attack” and ded that American generals h told him it was likely caused by a bomb. US Defence Secretary Mark Esper contricted President on Wednesday saying most people believe that explosion “was an accident, as reported.”

As per reports, Lebanese government has ordered for house arrest of several port officials in connection with dely blast that killed at least 113 people and injured more than 4,000. According to reports, investigators probing massive explosion that ravd Beirut are focused on possible negligence in stor of tons of ammonium nitrate at a warehouse near port.

Severe dams in Beirut

Meanwhile, Beirut Goverr Marwan Abboud on Wednesday, August 5 said dams from huge explosion that rocked Lebanese capital a day before could be worth more than previously estimated and amount to as high as $15 billion.

According to reports, authorities h earlier anunced that estimated amount of dam from explosion could be around $3-5 billion. 

Half of city’s buildings have been severely damd and hospitals are overwhelmed because of soaring number of blast’s victims. Leban has received humanitarian assistance from various countries, including Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, and Greece.

Health Minister’s viser Reda Al Moussawi is reported to have informed that authorities are also waiting for aid from or countries and list includes Russia, UAE, and UK. Moussawi said that Greece has sent a medical team with health equipment to help treat those injured.
