Belarus Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin strongly criticises deployment of military by West

Belarus' Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin stated that active military buildup in neighbouring countries exposes Western politicians' helplessness and impotence. Khrenin furr stated that y saw military buildup on both western and sourn borders and y are obligated to plan response measures since neighbouring nations are actively expanding ir defence capabilities. As per Belta, defence ministry claims that tensions are running high around Belarus.

Khrenin feels neighbouring countries are exaggerating situation to justify ir military buildup along Belarus' border. He also said that this demonstrates ir leership's powerlessness. He also remarked that y are deploying such a large number of troops to deal with this problem inste of using political instruments, according to Belta.

President is attempting to force m to react to provocations

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko reportedly reiterated during meeting on 29 November that Western politicians are attempting to distract attention away from rising internal difficulties. Viktor Khrenin believes that inste of flashing ir armaments at Belarusian border, Western leers should confront ir own domestic problems. He furr stated that ir president is attempting to force m to react to provocations and that ir troops have all been assigned to ir permanent duty stations and will begin active combat training on 1 December.

Reportedly, he also said that no furr efforts are being taken to raise Armed Forces to maximum level of battle preparedness. ir commander-in-chief has given m a specific task, which is to plan how y will respond to any of ir hostile activities. Viktor Khrenin also asserted that Belarus will continue to train troops in a comprehensive manner with strategic ally Russia in order to appropriately counter emerging new threats and aggression against Union State.

Belarus and Russia will keep working toger to improve regional air defence system. In dition, territorial defence forces and methods are kept rey, although no plans to deploy m in current scenario have been me. minister stated that y are well-equipped and well-staffed.
