On September 18, The Hurricane Humberto, a powerful Category 3 storm is expected to soon hit the Bermuda region. The authorities of the British Atlantic island have issued a warning and ordered early closing of the schools, offices, transportation and the government offices on Wednesday. People living in Bermuda have prepared themselves for the final encounter with the powerful storm. Wayne Caines, the National Security Minister stated that schools, government offices and the water transport will be shut at noon and the public transport services will halt at 4 p.m.

Hurricane Humberto to stay till early Thursday

According to the forecast, the authorities expect the strong tropical storm winds to start whipping at Bermuda before sunrise. Warnings were issued that the impact of Hurricane Humberto is expected to last until early Thursday. According to the weather forecast, the storm was predicted to move towards the north, but a slight shift in the direction of the storm could make the storm hit the Bermuda island.

Hurricane Humberto, Category three Hurricane

As reported by the US National Hurricane Center the winds sustained by the Hurricane Humberto are moving at a speed of 115 mph(185 kph) and would continue to move ahead with the same speed. They said that the Hurricane will remain a Category Three hurricane through Thursday. Later the storm is expected to experience some fluctuations in its wind speed. The storm originated from about 370 miles (595 kilometres) west of Bermuda late Tuesday. The hurricane was progressing towards the east-northeast direction at 12 mph (19 kph). Bermuda was relied upon to get rainfall of up to 4 inches (10 centimetres), with enormous swells along the coast.

Texas hit by remnants of Tropical Storm Imelda

In other parts, like in Texas the remnants of Tropical Storm Imelda threatened to drench parts of Southwest Texas and southwestern Louisiana with up to 18 inches (46 centimetres) of downpour throughout the following couple of days. It is considered the first-named tempest to hit the Houston region since Hurricane Harvey's a lot heavier rainfalls that flooded more than 150,000 homes around the city and caused an expected $125 billion damage in Texas.
