Renuka Shahane reacted strongly to the controversial Bhuj college period-shaming incident. She wrote how menstruation taboos deprived a woman of equal rights.

Celebrities from film industry reacted strongly to case in which a Bhuj college period-shamed students. As reports of 68 students being checked to see if y were menstruating before a temple visit surfaced, Renuka Shahane, Ashoke Pandit and Hansal Mehta vented out ir anger.

Renuka Shahane tweeted how constitution provided citizens equal rights, but menstruation took away this right. actor termed it as a ‘shame.’ 

Hansal Mehta shared a report on incident and wrote 'WTF.'

Ashoke Pandit reacted to a video in which a sadhu was justifying that incident should t be seen in a ‘wrong context.’ He termed it ‘shameful & disgusting’, while demanding those responsible for it be punished with imprisonment.

68 students from Shree Sahajanand Girls Institute were made to strip by ir principal Rita Raninga. She wanted to ensure that menstruating students do t enter temple. 

"It was really humiliating what happened in that washroom. Why did y have to make us take off our underwear? We could've just told m. This is t fair and absolutely wrong," one of girls said.  

Following uproar, a First Information Report has been registered against  principal, warden and two hostel supervisors, reports claimed.
