In a bizarre turn of events, the President of Liberia,George Weah, was forced to work from home recently after snakes infiltrated his office. A spokesperson conveyed that apparently two snakes were found in the building where the President’s office is situated, which is why he started working from home.
Deputy press secretary Smith Toby informed that former international soccer star, President George Weah was told to stay away until the Foreign Affairs building was fumigated.

"That building's been there for years now, and [due to] the drainage system, the possibility of having things like snakes crawling in that building was high,” the Presidency’s press secretary Smith Toby informed.
The President is expected to be back in the office on Monday. The black snakes were spotted this week briefly emerging from a hole in a wall of the building's reception area. Liberia is home to poisonous snakes and officials are not taking chances.

The deputy press secretary says the fumigation has begun to take care of "crawling and creeping things." The incident is not the first time a pest infestation has forced an African leader out of his office.
In 2017, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was forced to spend months working from home after his office was damaged by a rat infestation while he was out of the country.

Mr Weah, who rose to international prominence while playing football in France and Italy, was named FIFA's player of the year in 1995 while playing for AC Milan. He is the only African footballer to win the title.
