Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro, attended the Saudi-Brazilian Business Forum on October 30. During the Future Investment Initiative forum being held in Riyadh, Bolsonaro defended his far-right government. Bolsonaro's government has faced international criticism regarding his decision making during the wildfires that swept through the Amazon rainforest. His decisions became a critical worldwide concern. At the forum, Bolsonaro reflected on Brazil’s relationship with Saudi Arabia, at the same time praising Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Jair Bolsonaro, during the business meeting held at the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, expressed his love for Saudi Arabia. Jair Bolsonaro visited Saudi Arabia for a two-day stay. Saudi signed a deal with Brazil to invest USD 15 billion in various different sectors of Brazil. Bolsonaro expressed his gratitude towards the end of the trip. During his address at the forum, he said that he received exceptional hospitality, and the interest and trust shown by his Saudi Arabia friends will certainly strengthen the relationship between both the countries. He also said that there is no replacement for one-on-one contact.

Saudi Arabia and Brazil share a symbiotic relationship
This is not the first time Bolsonaro praise the Saudi Prince. One of the reporters of Suadi Arabia Tweeted that Bolsonaro after the investment meet praised the Prince saying, “We seem to be old friends or brothers.” There have been several occasions in the past when the Brazilain President extends his gratitude to Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman. Both nations share a good relationship. There is a symbiotic relationship according to Brazilain President among the two nations as Brazil needs economic investment and on the other hand Saudi Arabia requires food security. Bolsonaro mentioned that Brazil is one of the major countries for food production and export and Saudi Arabia has sufficient funds to invest in Brazil. It is mostly dependent on imports to bridge the food scarcity.

At, “Davos in the Desert,” which was part of the Future Investment Initiative, Bolsonaro also discussed the areas for future investment in Brazil, which included oil and gas, sanitation, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and defence.
