The European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Monday that the EU is seeking "economic sovereignty" after pandemic reveals weaknesses in the bloc.Speaking from Brussels, Borrell said strategic autonomy does not jeopardise "military partnership and our trans-Atlantic relations" - a reference to the renewed alliance between the EU and the US.
The minister also commented on the election in Venezuela, he said: "the result doesn't represent the will of the Venezuelan people."The European Union Council will also discuss the tensions between Greece and Turkey this week, which Borrell said had worsened.
