Brazil’s football federation unveils Pele statue

A statue of the legendary former Brazilian player Pele was unveiled at the Brazilian Soccer Team Museum in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.

A statue of legendary former Brazilian player Pele was unveiled at Brazilian Soccer Team Museum in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.

A number of Pele's teammates from Brazilian squ that won World Cup in 1970, including Jairzinho and Leao, attended event.

statue was commissioned to mark 50th anniversary of victory.

Pele was given a preview of statue at end of last month when it was taken to Santos, where he lives, so he could give work his final approval.
