AP Dhillon's House Firing: 1 Arrested in Canada, Say Police

New Delhi: Two months after a shooting incident was reported at Punjabi singer AP Dhillon's British Columbia residence, the Canadian Police has arrested an individual in connection with the case, according to media reports. 

The nabbed accused has been identified as Abjeet Kingra (25) of Winnipeg, who was arrested in Ontario on October 30. He is scheduled to appear before Ontario court on Friday, media reports citing the police reported. It is learnt that Abjeet Kingra entered Canada on a student visa. Kingra has been arrested and charged with discharge of a firearm with intent and arson. 

"On October 30, 2024, police arrested 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra of Winnipeg. Abjeet Kingra has been charged with Discharge of a Firearm with Intent and Arson. Abjeet Kingra was arrested in Ontario and will appear in Ontario court today," a statement by Royal Canadian Mounted Police read.

"On October 30, 2024, a man was arrested and later charged in connection with recklessly discharging a firearm into a residence as well as setting fire to two vehicles in the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, Colwood on September 2, 2024," a statement by Royal Canadian Mounted Police read.

"On that date, police located two vehicles on fire and evidence that multiple shots had been fired at, and into, a residence. An occupant of the residence was evacuated by police and Colwood Fire Department extinguished the vehicle fires," the statement further read.

Meanwhile, hunt is on for another suspect, identified as Vikram Sharma, who is is believed to have fled to India. Notably, Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara gangs had taken the responsibility for the shooting. An unendorsed warrant for Sharma has also been issued.

'An arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Vikram Sharma who is last known to be residing in Winnipeg. Police believe that Vikram Sharma is currently in India," the statement further read.

As the police currently do not have any photograph of Vikram Sharma, his specifics have been released to identify him. 
Anyone with additional information on the whereabouts of Vikram Sharma is asked to call the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. As this investigation is underway and before the courts, no further information was released about the probe.

A firing incident was reported outside singer and rapper AP Dhillon's residence in Canada's Vancouver earlier in September. The gunfire was heard near the singer's home in the Victoria Island area and two vehicles parked around the house were also set on fire.
