New Delhi: Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet, (Israel Security ncy) confirmed on Monday successful elimination of Hamas leader Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin in a targeted strike in Leban. This operation was executed with assistance of intelligence data. 

Sherif played a key role in coordinating Hamas activities with Hezbollah and was instrumental in recruiting members for Palestinian militant organization. His responsibilities also included boosting Hamas’ political and military presence, IDF disclosed.

Reports from Palestinian sources indicate that Sherif also served as head of teachers' association under United Nations Relief and Works ncy (UNRWA) in Leban.

Earlier in day, Hamas had anunced that ir Leban-based leader, Sherif, along with his wife, son, and daughter, were killed when a strike hit ir home in a Palestinian refugee camp in sourn city of Tyre.

IDF, ISA Issue Joint Statement

IDF and ISA eliminated Head of Leban Branch of Hamas terrorist organization.  Overnight, during a joint IDF and ISA intelligence-based activity, IAF struck and eliminated terrorist Fateh Sherif, Head of Leban Branch in Hamas terrorist organization.

Sherif was responsible for coordinating Hamas' terror activities in Leban with Hezbollah operatives. He was also responsible for Hamas’ efforts in Leban to recruit operatives and acquire weapons.

He led Hamas terrorist organization's force build-up efforts in Leban and operated to advance Hamas' interests in Leban, both politically and militarily.

IDF and ISA will to continue to operate against anyone who poses a threat to civilians of State of Israel.
