BTS members are currently on a hiatus to fulfil their mandatory military service. While Jin and J-Hope have already commenced their military service, Min Yoongi, popularly known as Suga dropped subtle hints about his enlistment during his last concert. Now, their agency BigHit Music issued a statement and revealed the date of his enlistment.

BTS Suga to begin military service in a week
BigHit Music has officially disclosed that Suga's military service will commence on September 22. The agency emphasised that no official events will occur on the day he starts his service or when he enters the training camp. They also requested fans not to visit Suga at his workplace during this period.
"Hello, This is BIGHIT MUSIC. Thank you for your continued support for BTS. We have further information regarding SUGA’s military service. SUGA will be beginning his required service on September 22. There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp. We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting SUGA at his workplace during the period of his service. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts only," the statement read.
Protecting Suga's intellectual property
Additionally, the agency cautioned fans to remain vigilant against unauthorized tours or package products that exploit the artist's intellectual property. BigHit Music said that they are committed to taking appropriate measures against any commercial activities that unlawfully use Suga's artist IP. The statement closes with an appeal for ongoing love and support for Suga until he successfully completes his service, with the assurance that the company will provide him with the necessary support during this time.
Suga's recent achievements
On the professional front, Suga has made notable strides during his hiatus. He unveiled a collaboration with the NBA, launching an outfit collection inspired by the United States. Prior to his enlistment, Suga released his solo album D-day and collaborated with IU on the song People Pt.2. He also treated fans to his solo documentary, Suga: Road To D-Day, which is now available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
