Cambodia: Come 2020, there will be no elephant ride at Angkor archeological park
Elephants will no longer give rides to tourists at Angkor archeological park. The 14 elephants will be moved to a jungle area close to the temple complex.

In a move that will make animal lovers happy, Cambodia has decided to stop practice of elephants giving rides to tourists at Angkor archeological park. According to officials, elephants re will be moved to a jungle area close to temple complex. Reportedly, elephants h been providing rides for tourists since 2001.
Living life in natural habitat
According to sources, some of 14 elephants at site are eir old or in ill health. y have been providing rides to tourists for over a dece. y will be moved to "a community forest in province" that will serve as ir new home. Apsara National Authority, ncy that oversees operation and upkeep of Angkor Temple site said that it is important for animals to be able to live out ir lives in ir natural habitat and that y will devise new ways to provide attractions and rides for tourists.
